A big thanks

Hey everyone,

A big thanks to all of you who made it out to see my panels and attended my parkour workshops. All of you were great and I enjoyed meeting you all.

For those of you who attended my Parkour panel and still have questions about specific moovements and getting involved in the community; here are a few useful links.

NEPK.com - This is one of best sites around for meeting local tracuers and freerunners in New England. Just create an account and check through the groups to look for one in your area and start going to jams and training sessions. The community is very open and friendly so go train and have fun.

For those of you who attended my How to Travel panel and wanted the slides and additional links; here you go.

How to Travel Slideshow

In case any of you had problems with the Opd format here is a pdf format of the slideshow

How to travel PDF

I will upload more useful travel links a bit later. Also feel free to check out any of the links I have on the page.

Thanks again everyone for a great weekend.

Cheers,

Phil

How to learn about the world and plan to visit it. Part the first.

While I have been planning this ridiculously long trip I have learned a few good things in regards to how to figure out what where to go and what to do.

Firstly, in short talking to people from around the world who share similar world views as you are the best place to go for any and all travel advice. Books and internet travel sites are great and can offer interesting bits of advice or travel destinations but there is nothing like talking to someone from a foreign country who shares similar world views and enjoys similar activities to get you excited about a country. I recently spoke with a friend of mine from Poland. Currently I am extremely excited to go backpacking in the southern part of the country. I never once in my life though that I would be looking forward to going to Poland. But there you have. I am excited to visit Poland.

Secondly, and perhaps more important than my first point; you really need to figure out what sort of person you are. Meaning, you need to know what you want or expect out of the world while your visiting the various parts of this glorious Planet Earth.

If your someone like me and you want to pull all of the culture and natural bueatuy that the world has to offer out of it in one go then you need to talk people who like to hike and enjoy art, local food and various lifestyles. While you may think these people may be hard to find I strongly suggest the use of the sites www.couchsurfing.com and www.hospitalityclub.org. These sites allow you to connect with people around the world and of course you can siphon out the individuals by interest.

Thats about all the adivice I can siphion off at the moment. More to come later

MAPS

So I have been messing around with google maps and have imbeded one into the bottom of the page to show my location every time I post. I am also working on a series of way points around the world. I am marking locations I am interested in and what order I plan on traveling to them.

If you have any suggestions at all as to sites or locations please let me know or just tag a location and label it and why I should go there.

Heres the link Late But In Earnest Travel Map

I have also added the link to the map on the right hand side of the page in addition to my couch surfing profile. If you don't know anything about couch surfing and you are interested in traveling I insist that you check it out and join its a great project and tool for travelers.

More to come.

Up and running

It is an ancient Mariner,
And he stoppeth one of three.

Hey Everyone,

This is the first post in my new blog. I just got it up and running and it seems like everything is working so far. I need to learn a bit about html in order to get this thing to do what I want but otherwise it should be fine.

My goal for this blog is to offer everyone a means of keeping up to date with me and track where I am and where I am going. Until I leave I will be writting down my plans as best I can and will generally use this to document the planning process. It is going well so far I will write more about it a bit later. Thanks everyone for your support so far and I look forward to seeing you all before I go.
